Hundreds of Albojeneses attend joint funeral in Albox
Last Sunday saw hundreds of Albojeneses gathering to farewell Juana AC (54 years) who had been fatally shot the day before, by her husband Joaquín J.TO. (61 year), who later committed suicide. The incident occurred in the couple's home in Albox. The bodies had been discovered by the couple's daughter who had called Civil Guard.
The husband, a local policeman was on extended sick leave due to depression and had been relieved of his service pistol.
The Albox Mayor has urged caution while the case is investigated, stressing the incident may have been a accident rather than an act of domestic violence.
Sources claim that Joaquín J.TO. had shot his wife twice, with at least one bullet wound to the head. He later shot himself in the chest.
The Civil Guard submitted to both the Courts in Huercal Over and the Andalusian Institute of Woman (I.A.M) that the marriage had appeared to be normal and that the wife had never previously denounced her husband.
