Albox to Host Almeria Youth Fair
Albox will play host to the next Feria Almeriense de la Juventud, FAJÚ 2008. It will take place on the 15th and 16th of March 2008. The decision to hold the event in Albox was made recently by the organising committee. The committee is made up of youth counsellors and members of youth associations from several municipalities in Almeria. It's president is Anabel Mateos, the provincial coordinator of the IAJ (Instituto Andaluz de la Juventud).
Activities on the programme will include workshops, exhibitions, sports competitions, and concerts. The Feria Almeriense de la Juventud first took place in March 1997, after a series of meetings between youth in the Almerian province. Its prime objective is to share information about the different activities that have been organised by youth groups in the province. The direct participation of youth in an unselfish and altruistic way is one of the principal characteristics of this communal fair, where youth are not only participants, but also play a major role in the organisation of the events along with the support of the IAJ
More than 1,300 youths from the province of Almeria between the ages of 16 and 30 years attended the last Feria Almeriense de la Juventud, which was held last year in Carboneras.
